Breath

Presumably you don't know that your breath smells badly unless someone tells you. Your own sense of smell can have a difficult time detecting your own bad breath. It seldom helps to breathe into cupped hands or lick the backside of your hand, since the breath only begins to smell when it combines with air. The good news is that your fear of smelling bad is almost always worse than the reality.

It is the bacteria farthest back on the tongue and on the sides of the throat that cause bad breath. Therefore, it can help if you rub the toothbrush over your tongue, as far back as possible, when you brush your teeth. Regularly scrapping the tongue with an upside-down teaspoon or a special tongue scraper is also good if you are afraid of bad breath.

Mouthwash does not necessarily solve the problem either. It simply hides the breath with a more pleasant smell, often mint. The same thing is true for the old household remedy of eating parsley. It is much better to scrape away the coating from the tongue with a tongue scraper, brush the teeth twice a day and regularly use dental floss. A quick and temporary solution is to use oral spray which give you healthy, fresh breath. If the problem remains, you should contact your dentist.
