The fragrance opens fresh and aromatic with top notes of bergamot and rough grapefruit, which fade into warm, floral accents from the Provencal hybrid rose Rose de mai combined with a rich, fruity orange blossom. The complex and richly composed base is made up of spicy cardamom and rose pepper hidden in the thickets of patchouli, oakmoss, vetiver, moss, cedar, musk and benzoin, a blend that brings mythical, poetic associations to the wooded English countryside. Somewhere in this generous mix we also find soft hints of sweetness from vanilla.
