Razor Burn

Razor burns is something that most have experienced during and directly after a shave. You recognize it as a sore, blistering, redness. If you get red rashes/dots after approximately a day however, it is ingrown hairs (also known as shaving pimples or razor bumps) you have trouble with.

The irritation arises because of high friction between razor and skin. This can happen due to that your razor, or its blades, have seen it's best days and need to be replaced, but it can also happen because of that your skin is very sensitive. In many cases it can be a combination of both.

To diminish the friction you either need a better lather and a pre-shave product or you need a razor with sharper blades, which consequently is more gentle to your skin. Only in an emergency should you need to treat the irritation afterwords with a after shave balm and other soothing products.
