Taking care of your body is key to feeling good and looking fresh. Moving around and drinking lots of water helps your body from the inside. But there are also a few things you can do to give the outside an immediate boost.

#1

TAKE CARE OF YOUR NAILS

The first thing people notice is your hands. Make sure they are clean, fresh and with well-trimmed nails. This is easiest to do on your hands and nails right after the shower when your nails and cuticles are soft.

Start by cleaning under your nails with a curved metal file before cutting them with a nail clipper. Nail clippers are easier to use and control than scissors, and can cut the nails on both hands.

#2

LOOK AFTER YOUR FEET

The basic rule for fresh feet is to wash your feet every day and put on clean socks. And when we say wash, we mean wash, not just stand in water in the shower. Use your hands or a washcloth to wash your feet, even between your toes. Then dry them thoroughly. Clean and dry feet protect against athlete's foot.

Once a week, you should do a more thorough treatment. For this you need three tools: a pumice stone (a volcanic rock that is lightweight and full of small holes) or some other tool for removing skin, a nail clipper and a foot cream.

#3

MOISTURISE THE SKIN

Not only the skin on your face needs moisturising. Dry air, lack of hydration or stressful climates can cause the skin on your body to dry out. To help, you can moisturise your skin with lotion, oil or body butter. The easiest way to do this is to apply it after the shower. Then you are completely bare, clean and your body is extra receptive to being moisturised. One tip is to wait a few minutes before putting on clothes to avoid getting them dirty.

To help your skin further, you can do a gentle scrub 2-3 times a week. This will help your skin look fresher and make it more receptive to the nourishing ingredients in your body lotion. The dead skin cells of dry tissue that are otherwise left behind block the skin's ability to produce moisture and can also lead to bacteria entering the pores. At the same time, occasional exfoliation also reduces the risk of ingrown hairs. Use a scrub or an exfoliating mitt.
