Beard Care
Care & health advice
Taking care of your beard is the key to a well-groomed look. Today, there are plenty of beard products available and we've put together a simple guide to explain how and why you should use them.

comb & Brush your beard
If you want to keep your beard neat, don't forget to brush it. It's like exfoliating the underlying skin while smoothing out the shape. Look for a good brush with natural bristles. More importantly, make sure your beard is dry. Brushing or combing a wet beard has the same effect as brushing your freshly washed head of hair before it's dried: wear and tear and, in the worst case, you'll lose more hair than necessary. Also, don't brush too many times - a couple of times is more than enough.
Combing, on the other hand, is only effective if the beard is long enough. Avoid hard materials like steel or metal against the skin and look for a comb made of bone, plastic or bakelite instead - Sailor's beard comb is great for those who want to be able to tangle their beard strands without major frizz.
CLEANSE
Of course, the beard should be kept clean, so that a dry layer of dead skin cells does not form. Apart from exfoliating with a scrub cream a couple of times a week, use a beard shampoo to get your beard completely clean of dirt, oils and wax (avoid ordinary hand soap - it dries it out!). Be sure to start with plenty of warm water. Once you've rinsed off any residual cleanser, apply a softening beard conditioner and rinse.
moisturize the beard
A good tip is to massage in beard oil (known to be beneficial for both skin and hair) or beard balm in the morning to keep your beard well-groomed all day. It's a miracle cure for a tired, worn-out beard. Benjamin Barber's beard oils is the test winner among the beard oils in the range.

Styling
Beard styling is about shaping and defining your beard to highlight its best features. Use products like beard wax or balm to provide hold and structure – ideally, choose a wax that’s easy to wash out. A good beard brush helps distribute the product evenly and creates a polished finish. Don’t forget to adjust the amount of product based on the length and density of your beard for a natural result.
Tips for a healthy beard
But general health advice may also be in order; like your skin, your beard is affected by what you eat, drink and how you live. There are no magic tricks to make your beard grow faster or less sparse, but you can help by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. And yes, you've heard it before: avoid smoking, drink plenty of water and watch your diet. Be especially wary of extreme dieting, it's neither healthy nor effective and it definitely doesn't do your hair growth on your head and face any good - it's often a factor behind temporary hair loss! Remember that hair is dead: once it has grown, there is little you can do to affect its quality, but you can prevent it from growing. The more you take care of yourself, the better your hair growth will be.
In general, you should be careful with unnecessary supplements (if you overdo it or experiment too much, your body may react with an increased risk of eczema or hair loss), but if you want to give your hair an extra boost, it may be worth giving silica and zinc (often combined in the same tablet) a chance, as they are known to be beneficial for both skin and hair. B vitamins are also important for body and cell repair, especially B-12 and B6.
Workout and exercise give testosterone levels a boost, which promotes healthy hair growth.
A stressful lifestyle breaks down the positive substances in your body and therefore your hair - a good night's sleep and the right amount of training and exercise are part of an important symbiosis for us to feel good. If you are feeling extreme stress, think about your work and social life; start with yoga or get advice from a physiotherapist who can help you with exercises that combine stretching with breathing therapy. Workout and exercise also give testosterone levels a boost, which promotes healthy hair growth. If you need an extra boost to get more beard, there are over-the-counter supplements such as Power Supplements. Power's triple-action beard oil also helps on the journey to a fuller beard. The oil has an active formula that also treats dandruff and soothes an itchy beard bottom.
In summary: what's good for your body is also good for your beard. And a sign of poor health is, well, dull hair and bad skin. It's that simple. In fact.
