Here's Everything You're Dying to Know About the New VIKING from Creed
The famed french/british perfume house Creed debuted its new fragrance for men, Viking, with an official launch in Iceland last month. Unmistakably inspired by modern men’s fearless spirit for voyage and their determination to conquer the conquerable, Viking is another cult perfume from this master craftsman since the commercial success of Aventus, which was launched seven years ago. Encased in a sparkling red bottle, Viking is symbolic of the valiance, perseverance and seamanship of the Viking Age.

Eagerly awaited offer from Creed
In its more than two centuries old history, Creed has never disappointed its customers or slackened their confidence. Its patrons know this and hence, they were eagerly expecting another path-breaking and genuine offer from the perfumery, which came in the form of Viking. Creed’s dedication to offering only the best for men and the subsequent customer loyalty towards it enables the company to continue writing its success story year after year.

Olivier Creed on his creation
The nose behind Viking is the sixth-generation master perfumer of Creed, Olivier Creed, who carries on the 2.5 centuries-old legacy of the brand by catering to a global clientele. On the creation process for Viking, Olivier said, “I channeled the Viking man when creating the scent. In my mind, he is fearless, daring, lives life full of purpose and never settles.” Viking is indeed a celebration of men’s marvelous feats in ancient Europe.
Not in a hurry to roll out another product after Aventus
After Aventus fared well in the market as one of Creed’s top-selling fragrances ever for men immediately after its launch, Creed was not in a hurry to follow up with another masterstroke and it waited. Olivier said that he never felt pressured to produce a fragrance. “Scent creation cannot be rushed. I approach it with care and want to make sure whatever I create is unique. Our customers have wanted a new men’s scent for quite some time.” He added, “Viking had to be a totally new men’s fragrance that would capture a different spirit than Aventus, which for me is synonymous with success and power.”
Emmanuel Saujet, CEO of Creed North America, echoed the same view. He said, “The way our competition works, no one in premium luxury today would wait seven years to launch a product. The way it has happened is by default; we do things a little differently than the industry.” Mr. Saujet didn’t hesitate to term the launch cadence “unconventional.”
Made by men for men
Viking was hewn especially for men who love going against the grain and who push themselves in every area of their life. It is fiery, full of virility and opens with a rush of lemon. The refreshing peppermint and cinnamon remind you of the icy shores of Iceland. Viking is an attempt to highlight the thirst for adventure and discovery as exhibited by the Vikings in their longships. It is elegant, smooth and long-lasting.
