WHY YOU GET PIMPLES
ON YOUR BACK
You may have already experienced that pimples don't just appear on your face, because pimples on your back are not uncommon and, like pimples on your face, can be caused by a variety of factors. We've put together a guide on how to treat pimples on your back and what to do to prevent them from coming back.

WHY DO I GET PIMPLES ON MY BACK?
On some parts of the body, our pores and sebaceous glands are larger, resulting in a higher production of sebum. When pores and hair follicles in the skin become clogged by, for example, too much sebum or dead skin cells, bacteria become trapped in your pores. This causes inflammation which develops into a pimple. Stress and hormonal imbalances can also be a cause as these increase sebum production. Hair product residues that are not rinsed off properly and remain can also result in breakouts. Be sure to wash your back when you shower so that all product residue is rinsed off.
Do you wear a lot of tight and warm clothes? Or don't shower immediately after the gym in combination with a tight-fitting t-shirt? This often leads to inflamed pores and hair follicles, causing pimples on your back.
HOW TO GET RID OF PIMPLES ON YOUR BACK
Clean clothes are of course always essential for a well-groomed look, but especially important if you get pimples on your back easily. Also make sure to change your sheets regularly as dirt clogs pores and causes breakouts.
Scrub regularly to exfoliate the skin of dead skin cells and use a refreshing body gel that leaves the skin feeling fresh and cleanses thoroughly. We recommend a scrub from Molton Brown with the scent Black Pepper that both deep cleanses and soothes the skin. The scrub contains black pepper oil which has good anti-oxidant properties.
Don't forget to moisturise your skin after the shower as you've washed away some of the skin's natural layer of oil. If you skip using a body lotion, your body will start producing more sebum to compensate for the skin and you'll be back to square one.
