Your morning routine

Written by Rebecca Chis, skincare therapist

The alarm goes off and all you really want to do is hit snooze and turn over on your pillow. But doing so is actually counterproductive, as it tends to make you feel even more tired and sluggish. Here are our best tips for a smoother, more enjoyable morning.

Summary

  • Start your day with products and habits that gently yet effectively awaken both body and skin.

  • Facial cleansing and morning moisturising help maintain fresh, healthy-looking skin.

  • Finish your routine with a subtle fragrance that feels uplifting without being overpowering – ideal for everyday wear.

1. SHOWER GEL

Take a quick shower and, if possible, finish with cold water to really wake yourself up. Using a shower gel with citrus or mint notes can help boost your energy and get you going faster.

2. facial cleanser

Wash your face with a cleanser designed specifically for facial skin – avoid using shower gel, as it is not gentle enough for the face. Facial cleansers are formulated to cleanse without disrupting the skin’s natural pH balance. Ideally, wash your face in the evening as well, allowing the skin to breathe overnight. Using a scrub once a week helps renew skin cells.

3. FACE AND EYE CREAM

Always use both a face cream and an eye cream to counteract signs of ageing. They provide essential moisture and help smooth fine lines and wrinkles. A tinted cream can add a healthy glow to the complexion. Choose an eye cream formulated for your specific concerns – such as puffiness or dark circles – to help you look more energised.

4. FRAGRANCE

Be mindful when applying fragrance – a true gentleman is subtle, not showy, in his choice of scent. Your fragrance should never disturb colleagues at work, but only be noticeable when someone comes close. Our fragrance expert has selected scents that are perfectly suited for everyday use.
