Balsamic Notes
Balsamic notes are a fragrance accord composed of notes that either evoke or are derived from resins, gums and various types of woods. Balsamic facets bring a sense of depth, elegance and mystery, and are most commonly used as base notes to anchor a fragrance and extend its longevity.
Typical characteristics of balsamic notes include warm, smoky, creamy, cinnamon-like, slightly medicinal or woody nuances.
Balsamic notes create a comforting, sensual and luxurious atmosphere that is often associated with oriental or amber-based fragrances. They are frequently perceived as soothing and reassuring.
Common ingredients include benzoin, myrrh, olibanum (frankincense), Peru balsam, labdanum and tonka bean.
