BDK Parfums French Bouquet EdP

French Bouquet by perfumer Amélie Bourgois is a retro homage to the classic aldehyde-based cypher perfumes of the 1970s - she was inspired by David Belenek's recollection of his grandmother spraying her skirts with aldehyde perfumes, one of his strongest childhood memories.

And sure enough, this cypher brings to mind classics like Chanel's No 5, with its French powdery elegance and floral sophistication. The top notes start off classically with Aldehyde C12 and bergamot, while coriander and floral notes of jasmine, rose and orange blossom hide in the heart of the perfume. In the base we find a complex mix of labdanum, Cuban tobacco, Haitian vetiver, tonka bean, violet, patchouli and sandalwood.
