Amber Kisio by D.S & Durga is a woody, smoky fragrance creation with hints of creamy sweetness, based on Hinoki, the Japanese noble cypress from the Kiso forest, whose wood is considered particularly sacred in traditional religious ceremonies and has been used to build temples. There is also Sawara Cypress, which like Hinoki has a citrus scent and grows wild on the islands of Kyushu and Honshu.
The Asahi zuru maple is an ancient maple variety originating from Japan with beautifully ornate pink, white and green leaves. Its name means ‘swan at dawn’ and adds roundness and a certain creaminess to the perfume, reminiscent of amber. Together with leather, moss and incense, the result is a complex scent that evokes woods, nature mysticism and religious rituals.
