Ebony
Ebony is a wood with a unique black core and derived from slightly different parts of the world; both in India, Africa and Indonesia have different varieties of Ebony. Ebony has been used a long time but for different purposes, the Egyptians used the Ebony to carve hieroglyphs and writing on sheets of wood. Then when the wood became known to Europeans during the 1500s it was used to make furniture.
Today we use the Ebony interior, often small ones, but also to the black keys on a piano. The smell of Ebony is intensive and exclusive woody with notes of sandalwood and musk.
