Histories de Parfums Edition Rare EdP
Topnote
Heartnote
Basenote
A spicy, floral scent from Histoires de Parfums, inspired by Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot, which premiered in 1926 - which is also the name of the perfume. Turandot was to be the start of a new phase in Puccini's career, as he decided to leave behind his realistic sentimental drama and create something entirely new, based on oriental adventures full of style breaks in the form of Italian commedia dell'arte figures in oriental environment.
We can also notice this mixture of different influences in the perfume. Princess Turandot's delicate elegance and feminine fragility are reflected in the floral fresh tones of the top note's daffodil, pear and orange blossom and the heart's cloves and jasmine. However, they do not have complete freedom of play here and there, patchouli as well as ginger appear to disrupt the pastoral idyll. At the base of the perfume are heavier, more challenging notes in the form of leather, amber and incense which create an exciting ambivalence towards the initial softness.
