Powdery, fussy, boring
Liquide (Gold) is a 2022 amber and musk-based fragrance with floral elements, part of French brand Les Liquides Imaginaire's 'Alchemist Trilogy' collection. Perfumers Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié and Quentin Bisch have allowed a powdery, floral musk to take centre stage to complement the sweetness of amber. While the silver-coloured "Liquide" (created by Anne-Sophie Behaghel in 2020) represented matter, this gold-coloured new version manifests the "spiritual".
Top notes of mandarin and saffron meet orange blossom, carrot seed, coriander and jasmine in the heart. In the base we find creamy sweetness from white musk and vanilla combined with ambroxan, patchouli and various woody accords.
Powdery, fussy, boring
Definitely unisex, but I feel it's leaning more towards the masculine side. Wanted to like it based on the description, but no. I don't like how the saffron smells here, almost a bit metallic and leathery, and I don't sense the orange blossom and vanilla at all.
