Merkur Leather Case Brown

A leather case is a great way of protecting your razor when you're travelling. It also prevents damage to the other contents of your wash bag. You don't want the razor blade slicing your toiletries! This razor case is well made and does the job. My only quibble is that it is a very tight fit for my razor, a Merkur Futur, which it is designed to accommodate. It arrived in perfect condition and flat, so I had to prise it open with the butt end of a pencil and then try to insert my razor. But then trying to remove it was difficult and I managed to pull the cap of the razor off and cut myself on the razor blade. Not a great start. So, to anyone buying one of these cases, I would recommend initially prising it open as above. Then practise inserting and removing your razor without a blade fitted. And when removing the razor, carefully push up from below the head to avoid contact with the blade. Despite my quibble, I would recommend this razor case.

Bought this with the belief that it would fit my BB razor (the info is misleading when it suggests that there's a more private alternative to this case in the form of BB's razor case, implying both cases work well for both types of razors). But nope, this doesn't fit my BB razor (maybe I should have figured that out?). I'm sure it's great otherwise, I don't have a Merkur razor.

Köpte denna med tron att den skulle passa till min BB hyvel (infotexten är missvisande när den säger att det finns ett merprivärt alternativ till detta fodral i form av BB:s rakhyvelfodral, ungefär som att båda fodralen fungerar bra till båda sortens hyvlar). Men nix, denna passar inte min BB hyvel (kanske skulle fattat det?). Är säkert bra annars, jag har ingen Merkur-hyvel.
