I imagine a Westerner the day after a wild party, smoking far too many cigarettes indoors at one of Marrakech's sweaty nightclubs. The protagonist is awakened, still dressed, to the sound of the afternoon call to prayer. Magical. There, at last, stands the night's meeting, eagerly waiting at the corner outside a tiny neighborhood shop. Once again, they will unite in an electric symbiosis. The future doesn't feel important; it's here and now, the desire of the flesh in both a permissive and forbidden environment. The couple escapes the pace of the orient for a moment, one’s warm moist hand in the other's vibrant one, up a narrow staircase leading to a relaxed rooftop terrace. The first drink of the day is served to the sound of chatter, clinking glasses, and international lounge music.
