FAQ

How much perfume is in a sample?

Most fragrance samples at Gents contain between 1 ml and 2 ml of perfume, enough for around 8 to 15 sprays. That's more than enough to test the scent over several days and get a feel for how it develops on your skin.

Can I get a free perfume sample?

Yes, we offer a selection of free perfume samples. Please note that free samples are limited to one per order.

Do I get a discount on the full-size bottle if I buy a sample first?

Some fragrance houses, such as QOT, offer a discount on the full-size bottle once you've purchased their Discovery Kit. Check the relevant product page for current offers.

How long does a perfume sample last?

An unopened sample stays good for at least two to three years at room temperature. Store it somewhere cool and dark, away from direct sunlight, for the best shelf life.

What's the difference between a sample and a travel bottle?

Samples are small trial-size vials, usually 1 to 2 ml, designed to let you test a fragrance before investing in a full-size bottle. Travel bottles are larger refillable atomizers that you fill with your own perfume to carry with you on the go. Both are handy, but they serve different purposes.

What is a Discovery Kit?

A Discovery Kit is a curated set of fragrance samples from the same perfume house, bundled together at a discounted price compared to buying the samples individually. It's a great way to explore several scents from one brand at once.

What's the best way to test a perfume sample?

Spray or apply the fragrance to pulse points like your wrists, neck, or behind your ears, where your skin's warmth helps the scent unfold. Wear it throughout the day and pay attention to how it develops. The first 15 minutes reveal the top notes, after one to two hours the heart notes emerge, and after three to eight hours the base notes are what remain.
