Rice

Rice is the seed of the monocot plants Oryza sativa (Asian rice) and Oryza glaberrima (African rice). The rice plant is an annual, one-meter-high grass. After wheat, rice is the most common grown cereal in the world. Mountain rice is grown on conventional farmland while lowland rice is grown in waterlogged fields. Lowland rice is the most common type of rice. In large parts of Asia, people eat rice more or less daily. Rice can also be used to produce milk for allergy sufferers and vegans.

In perfumes rice provides a mild, sweet scent.
