In the sun

Long beautiful days on the golf course usually top the list when you talk longingly about summer sports. After you've made it through four or five hours of golf, taking care of your feet is vital. Take a foot bath, rub oil your feet and you'll be eager to get out on the course again to lower your handicap.

If you don't have four hours to kill at a round of golf, maybe tennis is more for you. The most iconic summer sport, practiced in cool white clothes as in the time of HRH King Gustaf V. If ball sports aren't for you, maybe cycling is the right challenge this summer. FOR THOSE WHO JUST WANT TO ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS

When you spend every day juggling work and exercise, you may not want to see the lazy weeks of summer as a new exercise frenzy. But there are also activities for those who just want to relax.

Calm focus, chit-chat, and perhaps even a pastis. It almost sounds too casual to be called a sport. But if you are serious about Boule, or Pétanque as it is also known, then there is no doubt that it is just that. For the rest of us, it's just a matter of accepting the opportunity to feel a bit sporty and at the same time completely relaxed. Just remember to remove dirt and dust from under your nails with a nail brush before you dig into evening supper. 

For those of you who are going out to the family cottage in the countryside or a few lovely days in a borrowed cabin in Österlen, summer sports may feel far away. But with a bit of lawn mowing, followed by impromptu badminton between the apple trees, it can also be quite sweaty.
