The eye region

The skin around the eyes is the most sensitive area of the face because it is thin, easily irritated and lacks the active sebaceous glands found elsewhere on the face.

Dark circles can be caused by a variety of things such as lack of sleep, sun damage and thin skin under the eyes. Often dark circles are hereditary, but there are some things you can do to reduce their appearance.

The skin under the eyes lacks the automatic moisture system built into the skin, namely sebaceous glands. Therefore, a moisturizing cream adapted for the skin around the eyes can help to strengthen and moisturize and thus reduce the signs of, for example, foetal sleep.

Sun protection (UV protection) is essential to prevent pigmentation and sun damage that can make the area around the eyes appear darker. Ingredients such as vitamin C, retinol and caffeine brighten, increase elasticity and reduce swelling.

CONCEALER

If you need extra help along the way to hide a tough night with little sleep, a concealer is a good thing to have in your bathroom cabinet. Applied after eye cream, apply around the eye area and dab gently with your finger until the concealer melts into the skin.
