Insomnia by Francesca Bianchi is a dark, floral and woody extrait de parfum inspired by the peculiar state of sleeplessness, where exhaustion and creative exhilaration exist side by side.

For Francesca, the hours spent awake at night are not merely a struggle against sleep, but also a moment of almost boundless freedom. When the world falls silent and the demands of the day disappear, there is suddenly time for the thoughts, conversations and ideas that are otherwise pushed aside. It was during nights like these that she worked on her first perfume creations. Insomnia is her tribute to this state of mind, where tiredness eventually becomes part of the fascination and the night seems to exist outside time itself.

The fragrance opens with bergamot and black pepper, while a sharp mineral note creates an almost electric sensation of wakefulness and tension. At its heart, ylang-ylang and jasmine take over alongside an intense, narcotic floral accord. The rich, seductive character of the flowers develops a darker, slightly animalic undertone that enhances the composition's sensual nature. Sandalwood, cedarwood, patchouli and cypriol then build a deep woody base, softened by the warmth of tonka bean. The result is a contrasting and evocative perfume that moves between light and darkness, sharpness and exhaustion.
