Mineral notes

A synthetic accord that mimics the scent of inorganic materials such as stone, minerals, metal, salt and earth. It imparts a crisp, airy and clean character that often balances out heavier, sweeter or floral scents. 

Mineral notes can be reminiscent of the scent of rain-soaked tarmac or a cool, damp stone cellar, but can also evoke a sharp, clean and sometimes slightly chilly tone that can be likened to the scent of cold metal or steel. It is not uncommon for this accord to be used in conjunction with marine, salty elements in a fragrance composition.
