body lotion
Best in test
A nourishing body lotion after the shower adds that little extra to your bathroom ritual. It’s a product that’s easy to overlook when you’re rushing in the morning, but we cannot stress enough how important it is to moisturise the skin after cleansing. And what could be better than indulging in a beautifully scented and deeply softening cream? Gents’ test panel has selected the best moisturisers from the body lotion range and ranked them based on softening effect, fragrance and price.

Summary
-
Gents’ test panel selected the best body lotions in the range and evaluated them based on hydration, fragrance and price.
-
Profumum Roma Body Milk takes the top spot thanks to its luxurious formula, excellent moisturising performance and elegant fragrances.
-
Acqua di Parma, Benjamin Barber and Byredo demonstrate the breadth of the category – from fresh citrus elegance to more masculine and niche-inspired scent experiences.
Winner:
profumum roma body milk
Motivation: When discussing luxury, it would almost be criminal to overlook the Italian family brand Profumum Roma, best known for its extremely oil-rich perfumes with a pure and nature-inspired character. Their range also includes moisturisers in the form of body milk, which means a thinner consistency – a version of body lotion loved by many as it leaves less of a greasy surface on the skin. The hydration, however, is anything but lacking – quite the opposite, as shea butter is also one of the ingredients.
Presented in beautiful minimalist pump bottles and available in a wide variety of scents that can be paired with the perfumes in the same fragrance. But quality comes at a price – the fact that this is a small, exclusive family company whose products are not widely available is naturally reflected in the cost. A clear winner in our book!
#2
ACQUA DI PARMA mandarino di sicilia Body Lotion 150 ML
Motivation: We remain in Italy and dive deeper into Acqua di Parma’s iconic range. Since the launch of Colonia in 1916, the brand has become a symbol of Italian elegance and craftsmanship.
This citrus explosion, based on one of their later perfumes where mandarin is the main note, keeps you feeling fresh and hydrated all day. Like going on a sunny holiday.
The cream is rich, leaves the skin silky smooth and is perfect for both men and women seeking a sophisticated and long-lasting fragrance experience. Acqua di Parma continues to deliver timeless quality with every product.
#3
benjamin barber body lotion
Motivation: If you want a creamy and extremely long-lasting moisturiser with very pleasant scents, it’s hard to beat Benjamin Barber. These 250 ml tubes last a very long time, so you truly get great value for money. The cream has a balanced richness and absorbs very well into the skin.
The two fragrances – which can be considered quite unique to the brand – lean towards the masculine side overall; Black Oak is a milder and fresher option with oak, leather and tobacco alongside cedar and sandalwood, while the much stronger and exotically spicy Oud is based on warm oriental spices, oud and sweetness from dates.
The only drawback is that they do not come in pump bottles, which would have been convenient – but you can’t have everything. NOTE! Both fragrances are also available as corresponding shower gels.
#4
Byredo body lotion
Motivation: Swedish Byredo is world famous for its Scandinavian-fresh fragrances in a minimalist style, but also for its wide range of accessories. Naturally, their products are also available as body lotion, and the brand’s bright fragrance DNA works perfectly as both shower cream and lotion. This means you can complement the scent with several different products in the same fragrance, which is well thought out – and the scent retains its character regardless of the formula.
As always, the quality is high, the cream comes in sleek pump bottles, and the formula is very economical and absorbs well into the skin. The price is therefore fully justified considering the luxurious quality you receive. If you prefer an even richer consistency, most of them are also available as so-called “body cream”.
