Parfums Dusita is an exclusive niche house that combines classic French perfume art with poetry and its own personal expression. Founded by Pissara Umavijani - poet, self-taught perfumer and creator - Dusita is a perfume house where each fragrance tells a story, inspired by her father's poetry and memories of childhood nature in Thailand.
Parfums Dusita, an award-winning niche perfume house, was founded in 2016 by the self-taught perfumer Pissara "Ploi" Umavijani. She had arrived in Paris five years earlier with a dream of dedicating her life to scents and perfumes.
Pissara was born and raised in Bangkok in an artistic home steeped in culture and poetry, adorned with a beautiful and inspiring garden. The plants and colours of the garden awakened her early passion for fragrance, ingredients, and emotional impressions, and from a young age, she became fascinated by French perfumes.
Inspired by the stories and travels of her father, Montri Umavijani, to faraway lands, the young Pissara began to dream of one day travelling to France – the promised land of perfume artistry. Her goal was set: to create beautiful perfumes inspired by her own memories and emotions.
THE PERFUMES
The Dusita fragrances are scented tributes to her late father Montri Umavijani and his poetry, which has left a lasting mark on Pissara throughout her life. The name "Dusita" originates from a heavenly paradise of joy and inner peace – likewise, all Dusita perfumes seek to evoke a sense of earthly bliss by awakening the senses, stimulating the imagination, and speaking to both emotion and intellect.
Yet the scents are also deeply rooted in the classical and sophisticated art of French perfumery, with origins in Grasse and Paris. This very universe of perfumery once sparked a flame in Pissara and ignited her passion.
Whether it’s fresh marine compositions like Pelagos Extrait or green fougères like Issara Extrait, there’s something familiar and inviting. That we often find “classic” ingredients such as vetiver, jasmine, and oakmoss in Dusita’s perfumes is entirely natural. And still, there’s something unique – a DNA that is entirely Pissara’s own. In Anamvara, for instance, there’s a hint of tea, floral accords, and citrus – subtle nods to Pissara’s Asian background.
If you enjoy darker, more complex creations, you should try La Rhapsodie Noir or the spicy oud-based Montri. And for lovers of gourmand scents, Tonka Latte is an obvious choice – arguably one of the finest in its genre in recent years. There is something for everyone!
All Dusita perfumes are of the highest quality and use a high proportion of natural ingredients, ensuring the finest olfactory experience. They are 100% cruelty-free and vegan, as the perfume house is deeply committed to animal welfare. Parfums Dusita also has its own boutique in Paris, and in July 2022, they opened Atelier Dusita – a unique and exciting workshop where participants can experiment with beautiful raw materials and blend their own scent under expert guidance.
