In Japan, the celebration of Buddha's birthday, which takes place annually on the eighth of May, is called Hana Matsuri and also means "Flower Festival". At the time of the celebration, pink cherry blossoms are in full bloom around the Buddhist temples, which together with the blooming magnolia and violet during this festival are the inspiration for the fragrance. The fragrance starts with fresh top notes of citrus, moving to warm and floral heart notes and finally ending with base notes of woody and slightly bitter resinous accords.
