Darling by De Gabor is a gourmand fragrance with notes of sandalwood, spices and dark fruits. The scent was selected as one of the ten best entries in the international fragrance competition organised by the World Perfumery Congress in Miami in 2016. Darling is inspired by the moment when infatuation turns into love – a feeling of closeness, anticipation and powerful emotional attraction.
The opening combines Calabrian bergamot, warming ginger, saffron and pink pepper with decadent notes of cognac-soaked cherries, dried plums and figs. At its heart, creamy sandalwood meets gourmand accords of marzipan, tonka bean, praline and rum. The kiss between cherry and marzipan is followed by orchid, jasmine, coffee blossom, vanilla and patchouli, which together shape the fragrance's romantic character. In the base, ambergris, oud, sandalwood, amyris, guaiac wood and soft suede add warmth and depth, rounded off by powdery musk notes.
